Buying Guide for DDA door hardware
The Australian Federal Government’s 1992 Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) includes requirements to DDA door handles are easily found and designed for ease of use. For lever handles, the design requirement is a maximum of 45mm from the door surface to the door handle, and a minimum of 20mm return, to prevent the chance of clothing or equipment being caught on the door handle.
